| Loch Ness is more than 20 miles
long and rarely more than a mile in width and plunges to a greatest recorded
depth of almost 1,000 feet. The waters are peat-dark and impenetrable by
even the most powerful submarine lights, they never freeze and it is no
wonder that stories abound of an unidentified
monster inhabiting its
depths. There is an exhibition at Drumnadrochit where models, pictures and
exploration details can seen. |
