Just north of Poolewe on the A832 at the north west end of Loch Maree is
the entrance to the National Trust for Scotland's Inverewe Gardens which
contains a remarkable collection of rare and sub-tropical plants. It is open
daily throughout the year and was created out of a wilderness of rock and
heather by Osgood MacKenzie in 1862. Plants can be purchased from the garden
nurseries. |
