Moray Firth
Dolphins
The UK's most northerly family of bottle-nosed dolphins live in and
around the Moray firth, just a few minutes drive from Water's Edge. North
Kessock and Chanonry Point are particularly good places from which to see
their splendid aquabatic displays. |

Through out the year dolphins can be spotted, but
during the months the Scottish wild salmon are returning from the sea to the
highland rivers the sightings are spectacular. The hungry dolphins plough
through the water emitting a stream of bubbles from their blow holes, vibrating
the water, truly an astonishing site. Seeing them twist and turn as they chase
the salmon and then to see one jump high out of the water with a salmon in its
mouth is so amazing and such a great privilege to see. The dolphins
follow the salmon in from the open sea and this wonderful sceptical can go on
for hours a truly memorable experience many of our guests return year after year
to experience the real joy of spending time in the company of the dolphins.
Take a look at some amazing pictures taken by our
guests this year, they have been so kind and forwarded them to us and we say a
big thank you once more for sharing them with.
