Water's Edge has spectacular views over the sea and towards
the Culloden hills, there is private access to the sea
shore and small beach lapped by the clear waters of the Moray
Firth. Just 20 minutes drive away from Inverness, enjoy the city life while
staying in a beautiful Scottish village setting by the sea. Since we
moved here in November 2006 we have been transforming this lovely house into
a spectacular place to live. We have created three large completely
new guest bedrooms and sparkling new bathrooms. Each en suite bedroom
is individual in character and filled with all things special for you to
enjoy. French doors open from each bedroom onto a large
terrace with spectacular views over the sea. The dining room has a
large picture window, from the table guests can look out to sea and marvel
at the spectacular view. The area abounds with wild life, we have seen an
otter in the garden, dolphins swimming just off the beach at the
bottom of the garden, always a special privilege when they swim by so
close. Many guests return to stay with us here at water's Edge, this
is always a very special thing for us both as we can meet up again and once
more give them a wonderful time while staying with us. During the past
months we have been working hard, our many hours of hard work have been
rewarded and we are delighted to have achieved our 5 STAR GOLD Visit
Scotland award for an exceptional standard of accommodation. We had a
few trials and tribulations along the way, but everyone's hard work
means that we have a most beautiful home to which we welcome guests
from all over the world. Fortrose is a beautiful, idyllic Scottish highland
fishing village just twenty minutes scenic drive from
Inverness, which can be seen over the water from the house. There are two
excellent restaurants just a few minutes walk from the house along
with a traditional pub, coffee shop and all the usual village shops.
November saw the opening in the village of a chocolate shop selling
the most delicious home made Belgian Chocolates and just a few doors
away a quality antique shop selling treasures of times gone by.
The Fortrose yacht club is based close to the harbour which is less than
one minutes walk along the beach from the garden and it is an idyllic sight
to see the yachts sailing. If you enjoy fishing we always will have a spare
rod for you to cast a line or two from the bottom of the garden at high
tide. The summer time will bring warmer water for you to enjoy a swim in the
clear waters of the Moray Firth from the bottom of the garden. It is a
little cold, but I have to say, having enjoyed swimming myself many times on
warm sunny days, it really is a wonderful experience.
We have a laptop computer for our guests to use with access to
broadband using a wireless access point or the LAN connection in each
bedroom.
The airport is 35 Minutes from Fortrose, there is an airport bus runs every
30 minutes into Inverness city centre to coincide with all flights at the
airport. Taxis are always available just outside the entrance. There is an
excellent bus service to and from Fortrose to Inverness every half hour from
early morning until late.
We hope you will consider coming to stay here with us at Water's Edge, we
feel sure you will love it as much as we do, our welcome will be warm, of
that you can be assured. |
